All courses are delivered remotely via a range of approaches, including interactive online workshops, virtual one-to-one tutorials, self directed study and regular progress reviews to support your learning and development.
You may be working within the private, public or voluntary sector e.g. local authorities, independent housing organisations, charities, voluntary agencies. You will be providing generic information, advice and guidance that could relate to areas such as housing, work, training, volunteering, health and lifestyle etc.
You will be in a role where you are supporting clients to access your service and providing 1:1 support to help them consider different options, make considered decisions and plan next steps.
You will cover:
Duration: 6 – 9 months
You may be working within the private, public or voluntary sector e.g. local authorities, independent housing organisations, charities, voluntary agencies, providing generic information, advice and guidance that could relate to areas such as housing, work, training, volunteering, housing, health and lifestyle etc.
At this level you will be managing a client caseload, networking with other professionals and agencies and engaging with clients on a 1:1 basis.
You will cover:
Duration: 9 – 12 months
You may be working in a careers role or supporting Career Development Professionals within school, college, university, or career guidance services, training organisations, employment services, within the public/ private sectors.
Relevant if you are new to or already established in a role where you work with clients focusing on the provision of high quality career information and advice.
You will cover:
Duration: 12 months
Essential if you wish to qualify for the UK Register of Career Development Professionals.
You may be working as a school, college or university careers adviser, as an independent careers practitioner, or providing in depth careers guidance and development within the private/ public sector such as local authorities, training organisations, employment services. Relevant if you are new to or already established in a role where you work with clients focusing on provision of high quality career information, advice and guidance, to support with career planning and development.
You will cover:
• Application of interview skills, techniques and models
• Reflective practice, theories, models and self-development
• Understanding the career guidance sector
• Career guidance theories and concepts and their relevancefor professional practice
• Using career related information within the guidance process
• Use of networks and negotiation skills to facilitate referral to and support of specialist services
• Ethical practice fundamental to your processional practice
• Plus a variety of optional unit topics
Duration: 12 – 15 months
Essential if you have achieved NVQ Level 4 Advice and Guidance/ LDSS prior to 2011 and wish to join the UK Register.
A great way to accredit knowledge, skills and experience or as a starting point to building up to the full Level 6 qualification.

• Professional practice and self-development
• Career guidance theories and models and the relevance for
professional practice
•Providing career-related information, including LMI
Duration: 8 months
